Keep Hope Alive

Quality and equality in education — accelerating action on girls' education so every child can realize their full potential.

Our 2030 Commitment

We are committed to accelerating action on girls' education to realize a world where all girls and boys are empowered through quality education to reach their full potential and contribute to transforming societies where gender equality becomes a reality. By 2030, Movement For Action aims to support:

We respond to situational urgencies and take the necessary actions to address the issues facing today's generation of girls. We strengthen links in areas that complement our strengths with those of partners, networks, and coalitions — maximizing resources and producing measurable improvements.

Four Strategic Priorities

1. Reaching the Marginalized

An enhanced focus on marginalized and excluded groups who are most at risk of being left behind.

2. Safety in Schools

The reduction and elimination of school-related gender-based violence.

3. Better Learning Outcomes

Improved learning outcomes for boys and especially girls — going to school must mean actually learning.

4. Beyond Primary School

More girls transitioning to secondary education and accessing post-primary opportunities.

Breaking the Barriers to Girls' Education

These are the obstacles standing between millions of girls and a classroom.

The Education Crisis in Developing Countries

The education crisis in developing countries has three tiers of trouble: many children — especially those in conflict areas — cannot go to school at all; many children who do attend are not learning fundamental skills like reading; and post-primary students often do not acquire the skills they need to find jobs. Our programs are designed to address all three.
